Catalonia is building its own metaverse world

The government hopes to make Barcelona a digital hub by offering university students training camps to develop their skills alongside a range of skills programmes.

Daniel Marco, chief innovation officer of Catalonia, talked about some of the key efforts the government is working on to make the region a digital hub, in an exclusive interview with Cointelegraph editor-in-chief Alex Cohen.

Marco stated that in the last two years, the COVID-19 pandemic has really contributed to the spread of the idea of ​​the digital economy. The managing director also gave various examples from Europe, which has taken action to digitize the energy deal and many other deals.

Marco took over as director of the SmartCatalonia Government Strategy in 2014 and took a supervisory role in the project to transform Catalonia into a global “Smart Country”. Marco also became a fully digital, inspired by the physical world with the advent of blockchain technology and the metaverse. trying to create an economy.

Saying that the government is trying to build a Catalonian metaverse called Cataverse, he made the following sentences:

“Cataverse will be connected with the Catalan language and Catalan culture. What we want to have in the metaverse that we are trying to build is that the Catalans who are doing something for their culture can carry it to the metaverse as well.”
